Found as a bonus track on the UK edition of Kenna's Make Sure They See My Face, "Rockaway Life" (featuring background vocal support from the Timberlake man) lands as another blistering dance-R&B-new wave-rock hybrid from the frustratingly under-appreciated Neptune pal. Anchored in the same ear-catching, chaotic club furor that N.E.R.D. have made their musical base for years, "Life" hits the listener hard as soon as it pours through the speakers, it's all-encompassing swirls of guitar, drums and bass synths sending you on an aural high you won't ever want to end.
"Looking for sensation/ I know why you stepped in through my door," Kenna goth-croons as the busy clutter of noise explodes around him. And he has no intentions of letting her down, pushing her to take a "first class ride" and "come and kiss the sky" while the end of the world looms. Juxtaposed against Kenna's energetic howls, JT contributes plush harmonies and fuzzed out vocals that intertwine layers of smooth seduction within the tune's kaleidoscopic swing. It's a lot to take in in just under four minutes, but it's a dizzying pop triumph nonetheless.
Can someone please explain to me why this cat isn't a huge superstar yet?

Kenna sort reminds me of Seal with his CRAZY-level single to still be delivered.
