While the UK music industry were blowing fumes that Prince wasn't playing fair with the ways he chose to release his new album Planet Earth (releasing it for free with the Sunday paper), our favorite eccentric pop star was busy building a long-awaited homage to his glory days. He first threw hints that his new stuff would be pop/ rock-oriented on the cute lead single "Guitar", but it'll be breezy album track "The One U Wanna C" that will assure you Prince is back where he belongs.
Gliding on effervescent pop charms thanks to it's twangy barnyard riffs, giddy melody and an addictive assist from fantasy lesbian lovers Wendy & Lisa returning to his side, "The One U Wanna C" instantly takes you back to a time when he pushed out catchy classics like "When U Were Mine" and "Raspberry Beret" with amazing ease.
"I got a lot of money/ And I don't wanna spend it on me", he lets loose in that much-missed hiccup, indulging in his favorite pastime (chasing panties) and working that mystic magnetism that leads exotic women dropping to his high-heeled toes just by the snap of his dainty little fingers. What woman in their right mind would not want to be his latest boo and miss out on probably the most metaphysical orgasm known to mankind? So intent on sharing some private time with this newest obsession, he even allows her not to shave her legs he's so infatuated by her (though we find it hard to believe he would allow her to be so imperfect for too long).
Prince had fooled us into believing he didn't have it in him anymore, so much so that everyone except the devoted few had completely written him off. We grew even more frustrated as he pushed newer material in his live shows, blatantly omitting the tunes he knew we really wanted to hear, especially the nasty ones. Hopefully he'll never re-enter that dark place ever again and keep giving us lil' nuggets like "The One U Wanna C" so the kids can finally see why we were so in love with this lovable weirdo genius way back when.

Hola-
Mucho gracias for postin' the track.
It is a nice & funky return for His Purpleness...
By the way, my listening of the track has it that Prince sez to his lady that she does not shave her legs 'cause it ain't him at the door- ostensibly sayin' no one else matters & he's the only one for whom she needs to primp & preen. I believe our boy still likes his ladies ready to roll as it were...
Thanks again for the afternoon delight- it was the perfect song to end my new summer mixtape (albeit on CD of course), the last funky piece of puzzle to make the mix kick & pop.
Enjoy the day-
Robt
